Size 9 Preowned Nike Air Max 1 London Underground Roundel

Part of the first pack of Nike to ever use jacquard material as the base for its upper, the London Underground x Nike Air Max 1 "Roundel" released in December, 2013. Originally only available via a Piccadilly Circus pop-up shop, the Roundel AM1 eventually made its way to a select number of top-tier Nike Sportswear retailers, although still remaining very elusive to may collectors. Inspired by the colors and pattern of the upholstery in London's train cars, the London Underground Air Max 1 uses the densely woven jacquard material to construct a single piece woven upper that transitional from blocks of tan to red, brown, and black. On the Air Max 1 Roundel, the overlays are still included, although each are constructed of a single piece of jacquard in the same print while a black-stitched Nike Swoosh strike across the mid-foot in traditional AM1 fashion. Roundel branding is found on the tongue, and the AM1 Roundel came in special NSW packaging with London Underground branding. Originally retailing for £95 the Roundel Air Max One came in slightly lower at retail than its package-partner the Air Max 90. Celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the Transport for London (TFL), the London Underground x Nike Air Max 1 "Roundel" not only paid homage to the train cars of London but also pushed Nike Sportswear innovation forward with new materials.
